Tadashi Harada, a top hair and makeup artist at the Beauty Creation Center (BCC), was nominated as a finalist in 8 categories at the International Beauty Industry Awards (IBI Awards) and won the Grand Prix in 3 categories.

I am very happy and honored to have won an IBI Award for the first time in my career. This time, I set my sights on a stage where I could be recognized on a global scale in order to challenge myself to further explore my own potential for beauty expression.
I will continue to share creative works domestically and internationally and will do my best to promote the presence of Shiseido's beauty technicians as well as the high quality and potential of technical beauty expression on a global scale." (Harada)
1st place in the Braided Hairstyles category – “Rainbow color wheel”

Inspired by traditional Japanese crafts such as bamboo weaving (takezaiku), decorated paper cords (mizuhikizaiku) and candy art (amezaiku), this work expresses a figurative form by delicately weaving in hair extensions colored with a color scheme inspired by the hue circle.

The IBI Awards was launched in 2018 in New York to celebrate the art of global beauty craftsmanship, with 50 categories dedicated to hair and makeup specialties from over 65 countries that highlight the talents of global beauty artisans who emphasize diversity, equality, and artistry.
The iconic IBI Awards trophy is so prestigious that it is featured at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA alongside legendary awards such as the Golden Globe, Emmy, BAFTA, and MTV Award.
