Hirofumi Kera, Shiseido's top hair and make-up artist, was in charge of hair and make-up for YUIMA NAKAZATO's show presented at Paris Haute Couture 23 S/S on January 25th.

Yuima Nakazato is currently the only Japanese fashion designer of the Paris haute couture collection. Kera has been in charge of hair and makeup for the show for a long time, but in the past few years, due to the influence of the Covid-19, Kera has been doing hair and makeup direction remotely from Japan. This time, he was able to go to France for the first time in three years, and actually did hair and makeup at the backstage in Paris.

It was so much fun to finally be able to actually stand backstage at the show in Paris!
The theme of this time came from the reality that Mr.Yuima Nakazato saw when he traveled to Kenya, such as mountains of clothes with no place to go, mountains of garbage that spontaneously ignite, and desertification spreading due to drought.
He brought back 150kg of old clothes with nowhere to go from Kenya to Japan and used Seiko Epson's dry fiber technology to upcycle them into new textiles and use them in his collection.
In response to that theme, I created a hair&makeup that looks like a new ethnic group.
