The Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo for the spring/summer 2024 season was held from August 28 to September 2, and during the event, Shiseido hair & makeup artists worked with various brands.

Here is our report on 「A BATHING APE®︎」 at the Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo 2024 S/S.

A BATHING APE®︎

A BATHING APE®︎, founded in 1993 in Harajuku, Tokyo and celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, held its first runway show in Tokyo on August 31, 2023 under the "by R" project organized by Rakuten.

The brand, which has many fans around the world, has been leading Tokyo street fashion for 30 years. This show served as a compilation of its 30 years in fashion, and featured the 2024 S/S collections of the main brand BAPE®︎ along with the younger line AAPE and its women's line APEE.

Hair and makeup looks were designed for each brand/line with the following key points.

-A BATHING APE
Makeup for each of the 50 models was tailored to their individuality, including covering the eyebrows, and creating spiky brows with exaggerated bunching, studding, etc.

-APEE
Overall, the makeup was done in pink and incorporated glitter, rhinestones, etc., based on the image of youthful Korean makeup. Hair was arranged in a girly style and wrapped with pink ribbons.

-AAPE
Natural, clean makeup looks were created for a fresh impression.
