Interview with the Designer of the Princess♡Parfait Card

The highly acclaimed collaboration project "Princess♡Parfait" by Shiseido Parlour and Shiseido hair & makeup artist Sawako Yuri has released its 7th edition. One of the highlights of this collaboration is the Princess♡Parfait card that comes with the parfait order. We spoke with Hanako Oda from the Shiseido Parlour Marketing Department, who has been designing the Princess♡Parfait card since the third edition of the series.

Hanako Oda is responsible for designing various promotional materials at Shiseido Parlour, including in-store promotional tools, menus, and product packaging. She finds a different kind of enjoyment in creating the Princess♡Parfait card compared to her usual work.

Talking about the process, Oda said, "Yuri has a clear image of what she wants to create, with a concept sheet that is easy to understand and meticulously detailed. I focus on how to recreate that vision and express it in a design worthy of the name 'princess.' Yuri often suggests novel ideas that lead to new insights and make the process very enjoyable."

The card design is developed after the parfait is completed and photographed. "With each edition, the team comes together to capture the world of Princess♡Parfait as envisioned by Yuri. We incorporate the background and props used in the photoshoot into the card design to convey the same worldview," says Oda.

“Princess♡Parfait: The Secret of Shine Muscat” is available at Shiseido Parlour’s Ginza main store Salon de Café and Lazona Kawasaki store Salon de Café until November 30 (Sunday).

"The parfait always features a princess-like appearance and taste, so please try it to experience a moment of happiness. I also go myself to enjoy the atmosphere with the customers each time a new one comes out." (Oda)

"This time, Shine Muscat is the main feature, but to create the luxurious feel unique to Princess♡Parfait, we've included a sauce with the rich aroma of red grapes. Please enjoy this surprising new taste of the muscat parfait." (Yuri)
