“I was in charge of makeup for this season's collection, and the designer, Mr. Sakabe, told me at the preliminary meeting that he had two requests for the makeup, saying ‘I have something I want to do.’”
“One was to create a ‘sparkling, shiny, and beautiful makeup look’ that would make everyone’s face appear the same. The second was to ‘cover the entire face with sparkling, shiny glitter.’ This was quite a specific request.”
“Mr. Sakabe wanted the audience to be able to concentrate on the fashion styles and items by removing the individuality from the models’ faces. I created a sense of uniformity by giving the models symbolically bright-red lips and heavy bangs to hide their eyes."

“In order to achieve a ‘sparkling beauty makeup look,’ I carefully applied white glitter that shone like diamonds all over the face, so that it sparkled from every angle.”
●Glitter Makeup
“As for the ‘sparkling, shiny glitter,’ from a technical point of view, I used Shiseido's latest technology to apply special makeup that covered the entire face in large glitter particles.”
“The finished look is quite intense and impactful. I think that this experimental collection will stir the imagination of the audience, surprising them and making them ask themselves ‘Why?’,” （Kera）
