[yoshiokubo] 2025 AW Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo Report

The collection was eccentric, exploring the extreme possibilities of patterns through innovative transitions as well as advanced cutting and complex gathering techniques, all inspired by the grandeur of nature, including snowy mountains, the Himalayas, and absolute zero.

The show took place at Asakusa Hanayashiki, where a festival was held for attendees, and in a humorous display characteristic of the designer Kubo, the finale featured the designer making an entrance on a roller coaster.

In response to the sporty clothing and the otherworldly setting of Hanayashiki, the hair and makeup were designed to evoke a sense of something being a bit off.

Hair:
A tight, wet style was created. All models were styled with a center part, creating a symmetrical look that added tension and a stoic feel to the show.

Makeup:
For the men, the skin finish was kept minimal with a healthy glossiness. For the women, bold eyeliner and a glossy skin finish were used to create a futuristic look.
