[YUIMA NAKAZATO] 2025 SS Paris Haute Couture Report

The theme of this collection was titled "FADE," inspired by Yuima Nakazato’s personal experiences during his journey through the Sahara Desert. The term "FADE" signifies the gradual disappearance of things, and it carries a message about the erosion of memories and materials, the desertification of environments, and the future of our planet and clothing in the face of climate change.

In the final part, Nakazato himself digs up a golden dress made of ceramic from a massive mound of sand piled in the center of the runway, dressing a model in it. This moment strongly conveys his determination as a haute couture designer to create unique pieces that he wishes to preserve without fading away.

The hair and makeup were created with the image of "people of the desert" in mind, drawing inspiration from motifs such as dry textures, salt, sand, cracked mud, and minerals. Throughout the collection, the makeup featured a dry, matte skin texture, with a unique technique called "spattering" applied around the mouth to resemble scattered charcoal.

For several models, Shiseido's second skin makeup technology was utilized to attach sand to the skin and apply headpieces, showcasing various expressions. The headpieces, designed to mimic mineral clusters, were crafted by Kera using rock sugar as the material. This choice was made to achieve a look similar to real minerals while keeping the material relatively lightweight.
